The unofficial winner has been declared; Teddy Saull is the 2014-2015 President-elect of the McMaster Students Union. The President takes office on May 1st, 2014. Results are unofficial at this time, as all candidates have five (5) business days to appeal their fines and contest the results.
From February 1st to February 7th, the MSU is proud to host the Discover Your City week through MSU Student Community Support Network & MSU Advocacy Street Team! There are a number of events & discounts lined up for students throughout the week to help showcase our wonderful city.
During the week of September 23-27, McMaster students engaged in a campaign called edYOUcation: Putting Yourself in the Centre of your Education. The dialog generated by edYOUcation Week identified three core issues consistently repeated by students. Subsequently, the document, the completed puzzle, pictures from the week and a video were sent to the provincial government for policy and budget consideration.
The McMaster Students Union (MSU) supports the University’s decision to uphold the environment of inclusivity, diversity and respect that students of the institution expect. Given the available information, the move to immediately suspend any and all redsuit student actives, as well as participation in 2014/2015 orientation events is both prudent and necessary. Due to the ‘highly repugnant’ material of the songbook in question, there is no choice but to suspend the activities of the group and conduct further investigations. This year's campaign period is between January 19 and January 30, and voting for the 2014/2015 MSU President will be held online, opening at 9:00am on Tuesday, January 28th and will remain open until 5:00pm on Thursday, January 30th. In addition, two important referenda will be on the ballot concerning the student bus pass and the MSU health insurance plan.
At the fair, participants will be given the tools to motivate oneself to work towards achieving goals. Whether your goals include a healthier diet, more exercise, to start volunteering, improve your grades, or socialize more often, you will find the information you need to make a realistic plan, as well as the support to stick with it!
