Mac Farmstand to host Local Food Fest on October 7th at Mills Plaza

On October 7th Mac Farmstand will host Local Food Fest, a one-day open-air event at Mills Plaza (in front of Mills Library) that aims to communicate the importance of local food to the McMaster Community and build a connection between attendees and their local food system.

Next week is busy for McMaster Students. Students will be able to nominate their professors and teaching assistants for teaching awards. Be sure to check out www.msumcmaster.ca/tac starting October 5th for more information. In addition to this exciting opportunity, students can start voting in the satellite polling station in Celebration Hall from the 5th to the 8th. At this station you are able to vote in any riding across Canada that you have proof of residence in! The Teaching Awards Committee has made a short list of why it’s important that YOU vote this October.

Registration is open for the 2015 Leadership Summit for Women

The Leadership Summit for Women is an annual event presented in partnership by McMaster University and the McMaster Students Union with the YWCA Hamilton. The Summit brings together women, trans* individuals, and allies from the McMaster and Hamilton communities. The 2015 Summit will be held Saturday, October 24 from 9:00 am-3:00 pm at the David Braley Health Sciences Centre, 100 Main Street West, Hamilton.

Bridges Café Available for Event Bookings

Bridges Café is an award-winning, meat-free food service establishment and inclusive space operated as a joint venture by McMaster Students Union (MSU) Diversity Services and McMaster Hospitality Services. The space can be booked for events by campus groups to host meetings, coffeehouses, and performances with the purpose of promoting inclusion and diversity. This year, Bridges introduced a new, streamlined booking process, which will make scheduling easier for event organizers.
