The votes are in and the results have been ratified. Ehima Osazuwa has won the 2015 MSU Presidential election and is President-elect of the McMaster Students Union. Voter turnout was a fantastic 42.2%, representing the 8858 students who voted - the highest number ever to vote in an MSU election.
The McMaster Students Union is proud to officially launch the Women and Gender Equity Network (WGEN), a new pilot service with the goal of creating a safe campus environment for women-identified individuals, trans people, and survivors of sexual assault. To celebrate the official launch, WGEN will be hosting a servies of events throughout the day in Clubspace, Hamilton Hall, and their space in MUSC room 226. In addition, WGEN will now be offering several services thoughout the remainder of the year, inclduing a Safe(r) Space on Monday-Friday from 4:30-9:30 PM and a book club and documentary screenings focusing on topics of gender and equity through their respective media.
MSU President Teddy Saull has introduced a new proposal for a year end celebration that could take place on the last day of classes, April 8, 2015. The new plan involved consultation with students through focus groups and a recent survey, and includes numerous campus partnerships and more varied programming and events. The SRA is currently in the process of reviewing the proposal, and will decide if the new vision is of value to Mac students at the next SRA meeting on February 8, 2015.
Earlier this year, the Student Life Enhancement Fund, via enhance.mcmaster.ca, sought ideas to enhance student life at McMaster University. From that process, over 80 student-driven submissions were collected. Those ideas have been vetted and compiled into a list of seven finalists. With guaranteed funding for the top two ideas, voting closes at 5pm on January 29th.

Candidate information can be found here. Concurrently with the Presidential election are three referenda questions. Two questions concern potential changes to the MSU Health Plan, while the third question relates to numerous potential changes to the MSU's Constitution.
The MSU is hiring full-time, one year contract positions in numerous departments for May 1, 2015 starts. Applicants may be any of the following: a graduating full-time undergraduate student, have graduated from McMaster within six months, be a part-time student at McMaster, or be a graduate student at McMaster.
