Every year, the MSU Teaching Awards Committee (TAC) presents an award to an instructor in each faculty whom students have recognized that year for making a difference in the classroom. Awards are also presented for Lifetime Achievement, Community Engagement, and Merit (for new instructors). This year’s awards will be presented at a ceremony in GH 111 on Wednesday, March 30 from 6:00pm-8:00pm. All are welcome. The event is free, and refreshments will be provided.

On April 2 and 3, the Student Representative Assembly (SRA) will elect the three MSU Vice-Presidents and the MSU Speaker for 2016-17. In order to run for a Vice-Presidential position, one need only attend the SRA meetings of April 2 and 3. Students are invited to two VP meet and greet events March 29 and 30 in TwelvEighty.

Every year, the McMaster Students Union and McMaster University come together in recognition of exceptional student leaders. This year, the 36th annual Student Recognition Night was held on March 22 at the historic LiUNA Station. Awards were presented in seven different categories, recognizing a variety of achievements over the last year, or over the winners’ careers at McMaster University.

Light Up the Night on April 8 from 6-11pm with thousands of bulbs strung-up down Scholars Rd., culminating with a fireworks show at 10 PM. Free rides, food and fun, with musical performances by Yukon Blonde and Darenots. George Stroumboulopoulos will deliver a Last Lecture in Burridge Gym with a Q&A to follow. Pangaea is an annual one-day multicultural festival, the largest of its kind at McMaster University. Pangaea will take place on Sunday, March 20 inside the McMaster University Student Centre. More than twenty McMaster student groups participate each year and showcase their ethnic or cultural groups through food, displays, and performances
