The academic year may have come to an end, but the McMaster Students Union (MSU) continues to serve the campus community during the spring and summer months. Of major importance to undergraduate students are the continued operation of the MSU Health + Dental Insurance Plans, a variety of day-to-day services operating on adjusted seasonal hours, and as a new addition this year, the HSR student U-Pass (Universal Bus Pass) now functions for a full twelve months.

The 2015 provincial budget included numerous enhacements to the Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP). Specifically, the manner in which students are assesed has been modified, a move that will benefit many both at McMaster, as well as the province more generally. In additoin, more provincail money has been allocated to post-secondary student mental health.

CFMU 93.3FM boasts ten nominations across a variety categories at this year's Hamilton Music Awards. After winning Radio Station of the Year honours seven times in the last twelve years, CFMU is looking to add an eighth title to their trophy case. In addition, numerous CFMU programs, producers and personalities are also up for awards this year.

Each year, valedictorians are selected to represent the graduating classes of each faculty/department. In addition to facilitating the valedictorian nomination process, the MSU sets the selection parameters, (pursuant to the selection policy), which include among other factors; grade achievement, community involvement and athletic/recreational experience. The MSU is pleased to announce the valedictorians for the 2015 Spring Convocation.

On April 12, 2015, the Student Representative Assembly (SRA) elected the three individuals that will join President-elect Ehima Osazuwa in forming the 2015-2016 MSU Board of Directors. The 35 member SRA has the responsibility of electing and ratifying the three Vice Presidents (Administration), (Finance) and (Education), whereas the student body at large elects the MSU President.
