The Welcome Week concert line-up is out ... and it’s awesome. The free Saturday, September 6th rock show will feature Shad, Hollerado and Down With Webster. Gates open at 7pm in Faculty Hollow.
With its beginnings in 1964, Shinerama is Canada's largest and longest running post-secondary fundraiser. Originating at Wilfred Laurier University, the event is run in order to fundraise for Cystic Fibrosis Canada, who fund research into developing a cure for cystic fibrosis (CF) and care for those with the disease. CF is the most common fatal genetic disease amongst Canadian children and youth, affecting an estimated 1 in 3600 children throughout the country. As a result, the Shinerama campaign quickly took off after its inception, spreading nation-wide and leading to $25 million dollars being raised over the last 50 years.
This Friday, July 25th, McMaster will be holding its annual Welcome Day for incoming students, offering soon-to-be first years an opportunity to explore the university campus and the greater Hamilton community. The event, run by McMasters Student Success Center (SSC), runs from 9 AM until 4 PM, and will feature tours of campus, residence buildings, libraries, and athletic facilities in addition to workshops and information fairs highlighting the many services offered by the university and the MSU.
McMaster Students Union (MSU) Clubs is currently in the process of organizing Clubsfest '14, and registration for MSU clubs and services, McMaster departments, and community partners and organizations is now open! Clubsfest '14 will run during McMaster Welcome Week 2014, taking place on September 3rd from 10 AM - 2 PM in the McMaster University Student Centre (MUSC) Atrium, Mills Plaza, and the lawn in front of Burke Science Building (BSB).
