EFRT Celebrates Reaching 10,000 Calls

Most milestones are marked by years, but the McMaster Students Union (MSU) Emergency First Response Team (EFRT) can also mark their achievements through the number of people they have helped during their 32 years of operation. Early this month, EFRT logged it's 10,000th response at McMaster, and the MSU would like to officially congratulate the dedicated team members, past and present, that  have helped make EFRT the respected and essential service it is .

Delegate Applications Open for OUSA Spring General Assembly

The Ontario Undergraduate Student Alliance (OUSA) will be hosting its bi-annual General Assembly (GA) on campus at McMaster from March 19-22. The MSU, as a member of OUSA, will be sending eight student delegates to this year's Spring General Assembly, where discussions of additions and changes to official OUSA policy will take place. If you want to improve post-secondary education for McMaster students, or are interested government relations and/or politics, you are encouraged to apply to be an MSU delegate to OUSA GA.

The Albert Lager Prize for Student Initiative Award

#MacTalks: The MSU's Mental Health and Wellness Awareness Week

In order to facilitate meaningfull conversations around the issues of mental health and illness, the McMaster Students Union (MSU) is running #MacTalks, a Mental Health and Wellness Awareness Week, from February 23-27. The week also coincides with the release of McMaster's "Student Mental Health and Well-Being Strategy" launch, which highlights the continuing work being done by the University to address the mental health needs of students.

MSU Meets with Ontario Cabinet Ministers to Discuss PSE Enhancements

Reza Moridi, Minister of Training, Colleges and Universities as well as Ted McMeekin, Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing (and MPP for Ancaster-Dundas-Flamborough-Westdale) recently met with members of the MSU, as well as student leaders from Mohawk College and Redeemer University College inside the MSU Boardroom to discuss post-secondary educational policy.http://www.ousa.ca

MSU Student Representative Assembly (SRA): Now Accepting 2015/16 Nominations

The general Student Representative Assembly (SRA) is now accepting nominations for all 2015/16 seats. The SRA is the governing body of the MSU, and works to provide the best possible services, represent and address the concerns of undergraduate students, and lobby the University to improve McMaster’s academic quality. Nomination packages can be picked up in the MSU Office (MUSC 201) or downloaded here. Nominations are due by February 27 at 5:00 PM.
