McMaster University to move $250,000 into needs-based grants

The MSU has worked with Student Affairs and Student Financial Aid & Scholarships to repurpose $250,000 in merit-based scholarships to enter McMaster's undergraduate general bursary program.  The transition will result in hundreds of thousands of dollars bolstering McMaster University’s needs-based financial aid system.

EFRT First Aid courses available throughout spring and summer

EFRT First Aid and CPR courses are still available in April and May.  EFRT operates under Canadian Red Cross standards, with courses meeting the approval of the Ontario Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) as well as the requirements set out by employers and/or faculties. There is limited space left for the weekend of April 30 / May1.

Applications closing soon for peer support volunteer executive positions

Applications for over a dozen volunteer executive positions in the MSU’s peer support services will close between April 17 and May 1. Opportunities are available with Diversity Services, the Women and Gender Equity Network (WGEN), Maccess, Mac Bread Bin, and the Queer Students’ Community Center (QSCC). McMaster investigating reports of weekend assault / harassment

The McMaster Students Union is aware of numerous reports from students concerning incidents of harassment and assault which occurred on campus over the weekend. Having communicated with senior officials within McMaster University, the MSU is confident that McMaster is taking the matter very seriously. In addition, Hamilton Police Services has been contacted and is involved in the investigation.
