The MSU MacVotes campaign includes a series of events throughout October to help inform students about voting in the upcoming federal election. Students that are Canadian citizens and at least 18 on October 21 may vote. From October 5 to 9, there will be an advance voting booth on campus at which students may vote in any riding across Canada.

OUSA is a student-led, post-secondary provincial advocacy organization that collectively represents approximately 150,000 students from eight student associations across the province. As a member of OUSA, the MSU will be sending a delegation to the upcoming Fall General Assembly where students from across Ontario will be creating and changing official OUSA policy.

The MSU Student Assistance Program (SAP) is a benefit available for all McMaster students, in addition to their parents and roommates. This free, confidential, and voluntary program can be accessed through the benefit provider We Speak Student or on the McMaster page of the Real Campus website.

Full-time McMaster undergraduate students (those taking 18 or more units) automatically receive coverage through the MSU Health and Dental Insurance plans. Beginning September 1 and continuing until August 31 each year, the plans offer benefits ranging from vision care to oral examinations. Further details of the plan can be found here.

The McMaster Students Union (MSU) manages approximately three dozen student-oriented services, while simultaneously providing political representation on behalf of undergraduate students, to all levels of government. However, many aspects of what the MSU offers are now financially optional via Mosaic from 12 - 20, due to the Student Choice Initiative introduced by the Government of Ontario. This change may lead to the elimination of services and the loss of advocacy efforts provided to support McMaster undergraduate students.
