Golf season is here! Hit the driving range and get some practice because the 19th Annual McMasters: MSU Charity Golf Classic will be played on Thursday, June 25th. The McMasters brings students, faculty, staff, community members and golfers of all calibres together in support of the McMaster Shinerama campaign and the MSU Child Care Centre.

Mac Farmstand, the MSU's student-run campus farmers’ market, officially opens on Tuesday, June 3 from 11am to 4pm in the McMaster University Student Centre (MUSC). The celebratory launch event for Mac Farmstand’s 5th season will feature live music, face painting, a photo booth, prize draw, and the Farmstand mascot Captain Carrot.

Premier Kathleen Wynne, along with Ministers McMeekin and Del Duca, made a historic announcement at McMaster today, pledging up to $1 billion to create a light rail transit (LRT) system in Hamilton. The announcement was the culmination of years of advocacy efforts by many in the City of Hamilton, including the McMaster Students Union (MSU).

A record setting $179,392.51 was collected during the 2014 Shinerama campaign. With the fiscal year-end drawing to a close, a complete reconciliation of accounts is now complete. The final tally of the MSU's efforts has earned the title of a new all-time, national record for Shinerama fundraising.

The MSU's Vice President (Education) Spencer Nestico-Semianiw was elected Friday, May 15 to serve as the President of the Ontario Undergraduate Student Alliance (OUSA), which represents student concerns related to post-secondary education at the provincial level. An integral pillar of the MSU, advocacy for post-secondary education is the primary responsibility of the Vice President (Education), Nestico-Semianiw. His new concurrent role as OUSA President will offer MSU constituents a leading voice with one of the MSU's strongest provincial lobbying partners.
