Mac Farmstand set to open for 2019 season on June 12

Mac Farmstand will open for the 2019 season on June 12. With a fantastic assortment of locally produced fruit, vegetables, breads, and jams, Farmstand will not disappoint. Mac Farmstand will operate from 11am - 4pm on Wednesdays and Thursdays throughout the summer months and can be found on the main floor of MUSC.

23rd annual McMasters: MSU Charity Golf Classic to be played on June 27

Registration is now open for the 23rd annual McMasters: MSU Charity Golf Classic, to be played on Thursday, June 27.   The McMasters brings students, faculty, staff, community members, and golfers of all calibres together in support of the McMaster Shinerama campaign and the MSU Child Care Centre.

Multiple roles supporting student advocacy open until May 29

UPDATE: Systematic review of Maroons and MSU policies and procedures relating to sexual violence and response

To gain further insight and recommendations, an online survey is available to anyone who wishes to participate in the investigative process.

Peaceful protest by students is a right that must be protected

This past weekend, a group of students came to May at Mac to protest rising admissions rates, the prevalence of sexual violence on campus, and lack of sufficient mental health resources. Three students who took part in the protest were given fines for trespassing. In the opinion of the MSU, the protest was peaceful and appeared to be a textbook example of an acceptable protest under the guidelines set forth in  the University’s Freedom of Expression, Protest and Dissent document.

The MSU is Hiring for the Education Department!

The MSU is hiring an Advocacy Coordinator and three Advocacy & Policy Research Assistants to work with the Vice-President (Education) and the Education Department to conduct research into important policy stances and run advocacy campaigns on campus.
