Students, staff and faculty are encouraged to donate new or gently used mittens, scarves and hats of all sizes to the MSU’s annual Mitten Tree in support of Wesley Urban Ministries. The tree is located in the MSU Office (MUSC 201), and will be awaiting donations on weekdays from 9 AM - 5 PM until December 14
The Research and Advocacy Committee of the Student Health Education Centre (SHEC) is hosting Reduce Risk - a Harm Reduction Campaign. The campaign centres around harm reduction that focuses on minimizing the risks associated with drug use and self-harm.
The MSU Students of Distinction Award is granted in recognition of individuals or groups who have made a significant contribution to the betterment of the MSU or student life at McMaster. Several awards were presented this fall. Click here to learn more about the award.
The 2016/2017 audit reflects an MSU that is in a healthy fiscal state. There is a sturdy reserve in the operating fund. The MSU’s operating fund produced a surplus of $115 000, which represents 4% of the operating budget. Across the entire organization, including the operating fund, along with the health & dental funds, the MSU produced a surplus of $805,981 for the year. This number translates to 6% of the overall budget.
On Thursday, November 23, the James Barker Band and special guest, Andrew Hyatt, are performing at Country Night inside TwelvEighty. To raise funds for Charity Ball, students can donate $4 to ride a mechanical bull in MUSC from 10 AM - 3 PM that day.
