#myWILis campaign advocating for more work integrated learning on campus

November 23, 2016 at 09:25 am

The MSU is joining students across Ontario in participating in #myWILis, a campaign by the Ontario Undergraduate Student Alliance (OUSA) that advocates for more work integrated learning (WIL) opportunities on campus. Students are encouraged to share the kinds of WIL opportunities they are seeking, and what it means to them. The MSU is also running a survey throughout the week to collect student opinions and experiences with WIL thus far in their careers.

Work integrated learning refers to the process whereby students come to learn from experiences in educational and practice settings and integrate the contributions of those experiences in developing effective professional practice. Learn more about WIL and WIL courses at McMaster here.

The MSU encourages students to complete the survey, which can be found here. “This type of information will be really helpful when advocating for additional opportunities in the future,” says Blake Oliver, MSU Vice President (Education).

Visit the campaign tables in Thode on Tuesday, BSB and MUSC on Wednesday, and KTH on Thursday to suggest improvements and changes you would like to see regarding WIL, and learn more about WIL and the benefits you can receive from WIL-based education.
